About Us
Years ago, my grandmother passed away. Most of what she left behind were memories, but tucked away in the back of her cedar chest was a single piece of hand-loomed silk.
It is an antique, over 50 years old, carrying patterns that served as the ancestors to the designs we see today. When I touch it, I don't just feel fabric; I feel her hands and see the light of the village where she grew up. What is most striking is that while the silk carries the soft patina of half a century, the threads remain as resilient and durable as ever. It possesses a character and a strength that only time and tradition can bestow.
I started Sealior because I realized that when a weaver dies and their looms fall silent, we don't just lose a craft—we lose our connection to the people who came before us.
Sealior is my grandmother’s silk. We don't create these pieces for a single season. We craft them with the same enduring strength as that original find, so that 50 years from now, your granddaughter can touch this silk and remember you.
Do You Believe In Preserving A Craft That Is Dying?
If it doesn't have tiny "fingerprints" of the looms, it wasn't made by a human
